This is the first time that the musical FLOYD COLLINS will be performed on Broadway. But the show has been around for about 30 years. Scriptwriter Tina Landau and composer and lyricist Adam Guettel met in college and began writing FLOYD COLLINS together when they were in their twenties. The show was first performed in New York in 1996 at Playwright’s Horizons, an Off-Broadway theater. A cast recording was made of this Off-Broadway production and the musical gained a loyal following. Since then, the show has been performed all over the U.S. and internationally.  Listen to the FLOYD COLLINS Off-Broadway recording on SoundCloud by clicking the image.

Now, FLOYD COLLINS arrives on Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater. The cast includes veteran and first-time Broadway performers. One newcomer is singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine, who is playing Floyd’s sister, Nellie Collins. She created a vlog about auditioning for the show which you can watch below.
